Converse gave Rick Owens the keys to the Chuck, and he rebuilt it from the ground up literally. Black canvas up top, a slab platform underneath. The result looks like a sneaker that’s been through a growth spurt.

The Build

Rick Owens Converse TURBODRK High Black have squared, elongated toe. Off-white platform sole, thick and stacked. It changes your whole stance in these heavier, more deliberate. The contrast between soft canvas and hard rubber sole is the whole point.

Details Worth Noticing

Laces are thick, off-white, and pulled tight all the way up more boot-lacing than sneaker-lacing. On the tongue, you get the original Converse tag plus TURBODRK branding, stacked one above the other. Nothing subtle about it.

Fit For

Anyone already in oversized black, layered pieces. This shoe won’t blend into a minimal Dress it needs a wardrobe that can hold its own next to it.
