The color taupe suede instead of that classic black leather Dr. Martens always uses. It’s quieter, a little dusty-looking, not as harsh. Then there’s the laces, which honestly are kind of the whole point of this shoe. Rick Owens named them Megalace.
Construction
The sole’s still 100% Dr. Martens that same chunky, cushioned base that basically never wears out. Owens just made it taller and gave it more of a shaped, almost sculpted look. And if you check the bottom, that yellow stitching is still there, so it’s not like they erased the original design completely.
Styling Notes
Honestly just don’t tie these tight. Leave the laces loose, let them bunch up wherever that’s how they’re supposed to sit. Throw them on with wide-leg pants, some baggy layers, or just keep the rest of your outfit plain so the boots stand out.
